RE: Tow/Haul

Thanks for the info. I don't remember reading that you can push the OD button more than once. I thought when you push it once it activates tow/haul then when you push it again it turns it off. If you could provide any help on this it would be great. I just don't want to hurt my truck.

Tow/Haul

I always tow with the tow/haul button pushed. On are last trip when going down the highway the rpms dropped. Normally they are around 2600 rpms. They dropped to were they are when I don't have the trailer and the tow/haul button pushed. Is this a problem to let the truck do this? The truck didn't seem to shift down or jump between gears. We had a good wind pushing us down the road. The truck I have is a 2005 dodge ram 1500 pickup 1500 SLT, QUAD CAB, 2WD, 6.25 FT Bed, 5-Speed Automatic 545RFE Transmission, 5.7-Liter HEMI(R) V8 Engine: Truck came with tow package. With 3.55 Axle Ratio Axle Ratio. Thanks for all the help this forum gives.

RE: Something broken

Thanks for the help. They said the have put after market parts in the torque converter which are stronger! The transmission shop said pulling the 6300 lb trailer (empty) should not be a problem, and they can't see that being what caused the problem. Just looking for your input? Thanks again

RE: Something broken

Answer: 114000 km = 70836.315 mi. OR 70836 mi. and 556.0 yd Well they are putting the truck back together today. They said everything looked good in the transmission. Still looked new! No wear or burnt oil or anything?

RE: Something broken

At the start of the year I had a full service done. Changed all the oil in the truck everywhere. I have pulled trailers about 6 to 8 times. They said all the fluids look OK. The truck only has 114000 kilometers on it, just past the warranty.

RE: Something broken

I have always pulled with the tow/hauling button on and I don't remember letting it hunt for a gear. The truck came with the tow package Could it be just a weak part?

RE: Something broken

Sorry I was wrong. Its was something with the torque converter. Like I said I know nothing about trucks. But what would cause this to go on a 2005 Dodge 1500?

Something broken

Sorry I edited: I'm driving a 2005 Dodge 1500 2 wheel drive or I was anyway. I was driving done the highway with cruise control on, when I started loosing speed and the rpm's went up. I was not pulling a trailer or anything in the box. The truck wouldn't move! It wouldn't go in any gear! Well when It was taken apart the transmission was fine it looked still new. The then started to take the torque converter apart and said something had brook. Just wondering what would cause this. They said pulling trailers had nothing to do with it. If pulling trailers was the cause you should have transmission problems also. I don't know anything about this and this forum has been great for input so I thought I would ask. I'm to get my truck back next week> Thanks for all the input you have all given.

I was wondering what everyone does with the fridge inbetween trips. I'm not able to keep are trailer plugged in between trips. Do you empty everything and leave doors open? If not what do you do? Thanks for all the help this forum gives.

Black Tank Pipe

We are new owners of the Jayco G2 26 BHS. I was wondering if its normal for your black drain pipe that comes out from under the tank. When It makes the 90 to hock up to the Gray tank it looks like it goes up hill. Is that normal? Will it matter? Thanks Dave

RE: Using Calgon in black water tank

Sorry for asking. I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm in lower Ontario and the Walmart doesn't seem to have Calgon. What other brand of chemical is equal to this brand. Thanks again for all the help this board gives.

Gas Quick Connect

Our new trailer came with a BBQ quick connect under the trailer. We have a table top BBQ that takes the little bottles. Is it possible to connect the BBQ to this so I can just run of the 30 lb tanks on the trailer? Any help would be great. Thanks

Leveling Bubbles

I need to install some Leveling Bubbles on the new trailer. I picked some up from the big W.... I was wondering how everyone set them. Can you just go off the siding on the trailer. I don't have access to flat ground at the moment. Thanks for any input you can provide.
